Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I would say maybe call them to be sure. I was told that all ducks besides the peking and muscovy were protected under the migratory bird act and considered captive wildlife. All ducks are game birds but are also wildlife.

Yeah I realize that now, had a blonde moment LOL. But 75 sq ft for 4 birds?! I just see the dollar signs adding up. I'll call them Monday and see what they say, but I think you are definitely right and that's what it is.

It's really not that bad. I built a 8'x36' run with 1 roll of chicken wire for $70 (still 1/2 roll left), about 40 2x2s for $50, a couple boxes of staples for $20 and a box of screws for $9. It will hold 15 calls

Good morning all. We had an eventful night last night bringing 10 new baby calls into this world. Thank you so much again Lori for your help and guidance. They are just precious. 1 seems very weak and not out of his shell yet so I don't know if he'll make it or not. Keeping fingers crossed for him. The others are out and moving about the incubator. Learned a valuable lesson... make sure the 2nd incubator is ready for lock down!!! I felt so bad for those little babies trying to get out. Getting ready to go try and clean some of the stuck goo off of them. Can't wait to introduce them to my little Lily.

I candled the other 60 eggs that the breeder sent me. There were 5 blood rings and 26 viable embryos growing :D I pray that it's early enough (day 7) that they won't have to go through the same thing the last little guys did.

I will send pictures of the new additions soon.

Awesome very glad!!!! Also, the first one I ever helped out was still in shell and seemed very weak. I was extremely worried about him too but within 24 hrs he'd kicked the shell off and was doing great!!!

Can't wait to see pics. All 3 of mine are out, I'll go grab a pic!

Awww. They're adorable. I love the spots. 1 of my yellow ones has a dark spot on his back and 1 of the brown/black ones has a bunch of yellow spots on his body. The one that's still in the egg seems to be breathing a little better and finally opened his eyes for a few seconds this morning so I'm hopeful. He's a very light pale yellow color. Not like the other yellow ones. There was a silvery looking one that didn't make it last night and I'm wondering if that's what color he is too. They're all so darned cute! 2 look to be bibbed, 1 brown with yellow eye streaks, 1 brown with lots of yellow on his head and yellow spots, 4 yellow, 1 yellow with dark spot and the light yellow one. So excited for Lily to have playmates lol
