Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Lol. Make sure to share pictures. Always thought about getting button quails but not sure what I'd do with them lol

I have buttons. They are awesome. Not particularly intelligent but they are super pretty. They are laying like crazy, you can have some eggs if you want. You can keep them in a regular bird cage, you want small wiring though because they are tiny.

The bobs I'm thinking about breeding too. Need to go hunting for another enclosed coop though.

Yeah I always thought the buttons were cute but do you hold them or do anything with them other than look at them?

Sorry I have have just gotten back from my 36 hour shift. Younger mandarins and wood ducks will get a new mate. Older ones usually do not. I have to do more research on the rest.

All of the babies are so Cute!!!!!! Thank you for posting those great pictures. My six went into lock down on Friday. Nothing to do but wait now. My other ducks will keep me busy though.

Haha lol no. I have them in a large enclosed coop outside. I will go out and refresh their Feed and water and then sit and watch them running around but that's about it. They aren't much for holding, they shed feathers as a natural defense against predators, so when you pick them up you have to hold them firmly otherwise they slip through your fingers.

When I first got them I had them in bird cages on my lanai. Thank God for that too, I don't know how many times they got loose, ha.

So trying not to get too ahead of myself here. BUT the two black/white ducklings that just hatched...well they looked a little dirty, so did the one that I thought was all white. WELL it turns out its not dirt, it's dark coloring because they are TRIS!!! Black, buff, and white!!! Then the one that I thought is all white is buff and white!!'

The wait during lock down is the worst. Fingers crossed for all babies. Share pictures when they come :)

Yay. Can't wait to see pictures as they grow and feather out. 2 of the yellow calls I just hatched look to each have a black spot on their back so curious to see if it turns into anything or if it's just off colored down for some reason or another. Lily is still scared of them and runs if they get too close to her lol. They're so funny to watch. The babies are so clumsy lol
