Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Alright I don't know what to do with sassy, she's still in my room and starting to get lots of feathers she can't go outside by herself, she would be alone and that's not good. My others still have a couple of weeks left to hatch and then at least three weeks after that.. she can't stay in the house until they are out. OMG she's already a messy girl. I can't send her outside with the chickens they don't have there feathers yet. The group had not welcomed her in yet INFACT they really peck at her.

I'm in a pickle here..

Yes it is! At least this way I will get what I want instead of wasting money (since I can't tell the difference from pet quality to show quality) ill just order from the best! Sucks they have a 10 duckling minimum. So it'll about $175 after shipping. Lol.

I don't believe they ship call ducklings so you'd have to wait for juveniles and they'd be a lot more expensive. That's the problem I've run into with other breeders also. Calls are more delicate so nobody wants to ship them until they're older.

Awww. Poor Sassy. Having the same issue with the 2 Ameraucana boys that I got. My girls are 3 times the size and although they aren't too terrible they do throw in a peck now and then so I'm scared to just leave them and walk away. I sure hope the group will accept her soon. Any way to put her in a small coop of sorts for a while each day so the others can't get to her but can see her and smell her. Maybe a large dog kennel or something? Or maybe use a small section of temporary fencing to build a small enclosure that they can't get into. I don't know. Wish you luck. We need updated pics of Miss Sassy though :) Lily is just starting to get her feathers

I will try the large dog cage, it's been so cold and I'm sure she is not going to like it... Lol

She won't even go swimming int he bath tub alone, she's a wimp... Lol I have a wimpy call duck.. You may not want to see her right now she is going through that ugly stage, lol

Awww. No such thing as ugly when it comes to call babies lol. I hope she finds her way and the others quit being such brutes :)

They do but I'm a victim of my own impatience. I'm going to order an adult pair since they are available now. Their shipping Is actually really reasonable.

Holderread's website says they don't ship call ducklings. Maybe we're looking at different websites. So what color are you going to get? What are they charging for shipping? So exciting... you will have to post pictures when you get them.

Ah sorry you are correct they don't ship CALL ducklings. They do however ship the silkie, which are a bantam breed (the ones I want).

4 can fit to a box, the box is $16 then whatever shipping is. Waiting for a quote from them. IF I can afford them, I will definitely post pictures, ha. They make it difficult because they take only cash. Won't let you pay via PayPal with a credit card. That makes the hit much more painful when doing my checkbook, ha.

I tried keeping them out in an area in my living room but I then had to dispose of my rug, and couch! They were jumping all over the place and making a mess. Do you have a bathroom you can keep her in for now? That's what I ended up doing with two of mine when they were under 4 wks and not ready to be out.
