Call Ducks Finally Hatched

They won't hate each other, its good for them to have a companion.  Yes they can die from loneliness, however, a stuffed animal will produce the same results. LOL... but don't be surprise when its time for the duck to go outside the chickens will want to be with her.  Yes, the chickens will hang out with her even while she's swimming so becareful that the chickens don't attempt to try and swim with her.  Remember the duck is all they will know and will follow her, since ducks grow up faster then chickens they will think hummmm check out our mom... She looks like she's having a ball.LOL
Ive had it happen several times with my chicks, some not so lucky but some I was able to get out of the pool in time.

I did not think of that. I will watch them carefully when they are ready to go outside. Sounds so cute too.

My east indies laid their first egg. I cant believe that huge egg came from one of those little ducks. I do know they take 28 days to hatch. Do you know anything about hatching them? I imagine your lazy method would work for them too. This is so exciting! Harching my own eggs! And no more dealing with dammaged air sacks.e. I even have banti chicks hatching today.

Also do you leave one of the vent holes open in your incubater? Mine does not have a fan.

OK so my boss is trying to tell me that DUCKS do not have blood vessels in there feet that is why they are able to tolerate cold weather? Now if this is true, then if I was to cut off the feet of all my ducks, your telling me they won't bleed.

I find this HARD to believe..

And no I won't cut there feet off to find out. LOL

In the winter time, I have a shirt and cover half my bator, helps keeps the temp regulated.

Small amount, but yes they still have blood in their feet.

So I now know why everyone in Florida has Muscovy and pekin ducks.

All other duck breeds require the game farm license, AND we are only able to sell to licensed individuals. A rule that I will be forced to follow because I'm trying to get hired on with the FWC.

Yet I know that pretty much noone follows it.
Ugh.

Oh definitely. I don't mind the license part, I just think it sucks that we can be held accountable for selling to unlicensed people.

As far as I know, there is no restrictions like that in Nevada. The breeder I get my ducks from said I needed a cirtificate for the wood and tree ducks. Anyone can buy a duck from one of those big breeders, in my experience, they have never asked for any licence. That seems bazar to me. How is your ducks any business of theirs? Could be most ducks are mutts here. The kind that are hard to just give away. The ducklings I saw for sale durring the spring, were still advertised durring the hollidays as duck dinner for christmas.
