Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Also so glad that the three juvenile duckies (Tweek, Butters, and Spot) ended up being girls. That means even if I have majority boys in the four young ones I can still keep them all and have even pairs and an extra hen. Worst case scenario and all are drakes, then I will only have one extra drake. I'm hoping that the chocolate bibbed is a drake though.

Awesome. Glad it's all working out. I sold a trio of whites this week. Still have 2 more whites and 4 black bibs to sell. My 2 adult girls starting laying again today. Going to let her keep this 1 and see if she'll start sitting. My incubators are filling up with little bantie chicken eggs lol. I have 9 due to hatch this week, 6 next week, 5 the following week, set 29 more today and ordered 25 more to be shipped this week LOL. I think I've lost my mind ROFL!!!

How are they with laying?? Think they will lay for you this year??? Haha Im already budgeting for ducklings...LOL

They are not laying there yet. Probably too cold. They should lay this year no problem

Oh my gosh I feel you on the eggs!!! I'm going crazy too. Have the 2.5 dozen from Vera due to hatch the 5th, then I have 12 (I'm guessing more because the lady is so nice) ancona eggs coming this week, I'm bidding on a dozen goose eggs (don't ask me why because I don't know) and I am trying to convince myself not to buy call eggs off eBay but I think I'm going to anyways. And wouldn't you know I have a feeling Im forgetting some eggs??? Oh yes Cathy (my friend in live oak) will be giving me ancona eggs whenever I go to get my ducks from her, which will be AS SOON AS MY LICENSE COMES IN THE MAIL!!! Haha

LOL calls are better and cuter lol. Not sure where the geese came in though lol. I had 1 named Honker when I was growing. He was so friendly but the poop was crazy lol. Bigger duck, bigger poop lol. My mom would get so mad when we would let him come in the house but we got a kick out of him following us around.

You don't have to keep, brood, house and feed the eggs from Vera though so those don't count lol. She and I went down to Fellsmere today too and bought baby chicks lol. And I'm trying to get Lori to sell me some more of her eggs for next week too lol. OMG I think it's all setting in..... hatching disease LOL

It's my fave of the two because it has fuzzy feet and fuzzy legs!! The other just has a tiny bit.

They are going to go live with Vera. I can't sell them at the auction because I like them too much to just let anyone take them, annnnd my dad realllly doesn't like chickens. Ha.

Cochin hens are what I want to buy from Lori. At least I hope they'll hatch out to be hens. Just not that color lol. I have 2 eggs from her in my bator now. She's in OH so the cold there really plays on their laying and are only a couple are laying right now for collection for shipping.

Yeah they are super cute. I've never had chickens or chicks before, it's amazing how personable and fearless they are. The ducks seems to be inherently fearful, and the chicks seem fearless! It's amazing the differences. I always feel like Im going to give my ducklings a heart attack because they freak out when I pick them up. The chicks don't, they are all "hey dude, what's up, give me meal worms." Lol

How can you tell it's a hen??? Or what makes you think it is??? Makes me kinda wanna fight to keep it now, LOL. I thought it was a rooster.

Because of the comb in the center of her head. Doesn't look like any growth or redness to it at all. Here's a pic of 1 of my baby splash boys.
