Call Ducks Finally Hatched

OMG THANK YOU for posting that!!!! I'm pretty sure he contacted me wanting to buy my blue fawn pet quality male!!!!

He said her mate got killed and she wouldn't stop quacking. I told him he could buy my male but that wouldn't stop her from quacking as call ducks were bred to quack. He then asked if I would trade him my male for his female. I told him I wouldn't mind doing that, BUT they are sociable animals and they should be in pairs NOT by themselves and I suggested maybe it wasn't the breed for him. The last email was just yesterday morning and I haven't heard anything else!!! Sounds like he got back ahold of you after that!!!

It just disgusts me. They really aren't that noisy when they're happy. At least mine aren't. And she never was either when she was here with others of her own kind to mingle with. My roosters make WAY more noise then my calls do. It's so sad the way some people think and do things.

Update* Just got another email from him and he has let her out onto his property with a pond free ranging. What an idiot. Doubt she'll last long out there by herself. And he wants me to come catch her. Good luck with that.

Mine chatter at night and day feed. Plus when I say "hey ladies!!!"

Where's he live? I'll go catch her:

Mine chatter yes, but the girls rarely ever "sound off" loudly quacking. Mine talk back to me too when I talk to them. I love it! He's in Cocoa off 524. I thought of you and if you might be interested so I already sent him an email asking if he would mind if a friend came and got her. Wanted to be sure it was ok with him before I asked you.

I do too. Makes me feel loved, LOL. Yeah let me know what he says. I can dig out my fishing net. Worth a shot.

Oh, I also reminded him that it was against the law to allow them out to free range. This was his response to my last email.

"Sure…have your friend stop by.
They say we commit three felonies everyday out of ignorance of all the laws on the books."

Uggg. Makes me sick. I will PM you his address. He said between 9 and 10 am tomorrow would be good. The girl he got from me is a petite white little girl. Similar to the spotted 1 you got from me but without spots.

So let me just tell you all the experience I've had over the last few weeks. Sorry for the venting but I am so aggravated at this point. I had a guy buy a pair of white calls that I had for sale a few weeks ago. He has other ducks but this were his first calls. About 2 weeks later I get an email from him asking if I had another female for sale because the night before he was going to put the pair into the main pen something got the female and killed her. He said that it must be the male that was left because his other ducks chase it away and it doesn't really quack much. I apologized for his loss but explained that I didn't have any others available for sale right now. Also explained that his existing flock would chase new comers for a week or so no matter what sex because they're showing who's dominant over the flock and that if she "quacked" at all she was a female as the males don't really "quack". I had already explained all of this before in our conversations before he actually bought them. I offered him a hen as soon as my pairs started laying and I had a hen available. I didn't hear back from him for a couple weeks. This morning I get an email from him saying I can have the female back if I can come catch her as she is just too loud and "annoying". So he obviously didn't do any research on them before buying them, didn't listen to anything I told him, and we went from a male not quacking much to a female that's annoying. I'm sure she's probably lonely as heck being that he never replaced the lost one and she's probably all alone. I have 18 calls and mine rarely make much noise at all. The girls might sound off 2-3 times a day for maybe 15 seconds at a time. But they're not all alone, in a new place with other ducks they're unfamiliar with. I really hate people sometimes!

Oh man I wish I could have her..

Good lord what an idiot, poor poor thing.

Yes they can be. Not saying that they can't. Mine just rarely ever are. With that being said though, if I take 1 away from the flock then yes, they are very noisy. That's how I find out which babies are which sex lol. In the flock though they rarely do more than just jibbering.
