Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I still don't know how the mystery girl/ snowy came out because at the time I had zero whites, only the bibbed. Lol

A lot of people let their ducks all run together like all 3 of us do. I only separate mine if I'm trying to get a specific color. When 1 color mates another color and they have babies, they may all look like mom or dad but can still carry the genes from the other parent. So when they grow up and mate another duck those genes that they're carrying can still be passed to their offspring. Again, even if their offspring don't show that color on the outside they can still carry the genes and again pass them on to the next generation. For example, you may breed a pair of butterscotch 5 times and all 5 times they have all butterscotch but the 6th time they may pop out some other color. Kinda like my parents lol. 3 girls but only 1 with green eyes and the other 2 with brown. 2 of us were born with blonde hair and 1 with brown. Just because you can't see the gene doesn't mean it's not there.

All my brown ducks are girls lol. I have zero boy browns lol so strange but cool cause when I hatch a brown I can already sex it lol. BONUS FOR MEEE!!!

Did that little duck get saved? I've been keeping up with my cell phone internet. It is just hadr to write anything ledgeabl because the keys are to small, and my fingers too big.

You are not going to believe this, but I think I have a call chicken hatching. It is not making any noise, but the timing is right. The duck eggs have a waxy feel to them. I don't know how I got them mixed up??? The ducks have been laying in the chicken nests trying to confuse me.

My nieces and nephew are here. Gonna go out and see if I can catch her in a couple hours. Will update.

I still have one egg from you that MAY be a duck. I can't see any movement though so it may have quit :/

Interestingly enough, my 7 are awesome to watch! They are due to hatch the 5th. They have been moving off and on for the past week!!! I've never had eggs this active!!!

Will be waiting for the update. Hope you catch her.

My own call eggs are that way too. They rock and tremble like crazy. Had never seen anything like it with all the shipped eggs I hatched last year. I wonder if it has something to do with shipping in some way. I don't know how it would but definitely interesting.

I'm anxious to get over there. My nieces are still here though so visiting with them. Definitely more important than trying to catch a duck, but I'd rather be over there trying to catch the duck...lol. Just something about my love for animals. If it were closer to me Id take my oldest niece with, she'd get a kick out of it and probably be helpful too.

You may be right... I'd tend to believe it any ways. Oh and I'm pretty sure that of the 4 juvies three are males and one is a female (the chocolate bibbed). So grabbing that female will definitely help even out my male/female ratio!

Spent about 2 hours trying. His pond is about 50 by 100 so once she caught on she just sat in the middle. She is so tiny and adorable I hated leaving her!!! He's going to try and bribe her with food and I am going to head back over and try again later this week. Ugh.
