That's because he wouldn't have cared to go back for her. He didn't even care enough about her well being when she was there and just let her loose. I would have gone to pick her up too if she was penned. I knew it would be pretty hopeless trying to catch her out in the wild. So glad she's safe.
I talked to his wife too. From the way she talked the duck really was attached to him. I asked him how he caught her and he said she just came up to eat from his hand and he picked her up no problem. I can't even do that with my ducks and I sit out in the pen with them all the time. Crazy how attached they can get.
That's funny because he told me that she wouldn't come but within a few feet of him. They do tend to be more attached when they're a single duck though. Lily is a little more trusting of me then the others and used to let me pick her up but the longer she's with the other ducks the more she becomes attached to them and less to me. I'm just glad this little girl is safe
Me too I'm so glad I got her. She didn't make a sound the whole way home, boy you should have heard her when Butters started sounding off. Chatter box!!!! I'll get some better pictures of her tomorrow.
I bet she's ecstatic to have friends again. They're so cute when they're happy. I sit with mine for hours on the weekends. I just love watching them interact.
Haha I do too!! My family is always like "what are you Doing just sitting there?" LOL they are so good with my daughter too. They don't run from her, I think they don't see her as a threat or problem because she's so small (18 months and 18 lbs). I filled the pool up yesterday, and I had turned around to take pictures of the smaller ones, turned back, and she had one leg in the pool and the ducks were zipping underwater and splashing water on her and she was cracking up. It was so cute. Of course I said "kaylee!!" And startled her, she fell back on her butt in the mud, LOL.
