Call Ducks Finally Hatched

If it seems happy why not. As long as it's not constantly making noises, but if there's a hole in the skull, that's an opened invitation for infections. So he's got a challenge up ahead of him. That's why I suggest cover it up with the blue kote, it will protect it from getting any infections...

Try to send a clearer pic. I'm soo into seeing more.. LOL I know I'm sick that way.. SEND ME THE GROSE STUFF, LOL
You asked for it! lol.
It seems to be shrinking down a bit. I put the blu-kote on it now. so no more clear pictures

OK it looks like muscles not his brain, I think what will happen is he will get a scab forming over that area, Once he gets the scab then he will be covered and the rest of his feathers will grow in. It's going to take a lot of time before its done. LOTS. He'll be OK though..

Maybe not muscle more like underneath skin, I guess you can say. I have had a couple of chicks with the same kind of injury, even though he wasn't really injuried by others, It should heal up fine. The Blue kote will help a lot..

Some of my adult's would peck at the babies and cause injuries, basically ripping the layer of skin off the head and exposing whats underneath. It totally looks the same...

He should be OK. I would just keep it clean and keep doing blue kote. Did perhaps the Shell slice his skin as he was coming out??
