Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I know. I can't wait to see how they look when they hatch out and feather in. The little one in the brooder is starting to get some pinnies but I can't tell color yet

Oh exciting!!!! You know I used to be so impatient for 30 days to come and go but now I think I've figured out a good system. If I set eggs once a week then I have duckies once and week and no impatience just lots of duckies!!! HA.


Hey I forgot to ask you, did you want any of my babies? Not getting any unusual colors yet, just the blue fawns and the possible snowys or whatever the yellow ones are going to be. Black bibbed and then whatever the lighter colored bibbed ones are.

No this egg was doing the Least amount of movement, that is why I picked it, I actually thought it was dead and figure, cool now I can see what the problem is and try to correct it with the others.

Ah I see! Might be worth it to try using bacitracin.

So about 4 In the morning the little guy had stopped moving, I wasn't really sad because my whole frame of thought for opening him up in the first place was to figure out why all the see threw space, so this egg was going to give me answer and possibly be my solution in helping the other 5 Eggs that are doing the exact same thing.


So I peal him opened and what a site, EXTREMELY sticky, a nice BALL of THICK THICK THICK fluids came out. So that tells me the clear spots in that video is a Thick ball of goo.

So then I needed to know OK, is there any deformity going on because if there is, I'm not going to try and save five deformed ducks. I already have a handicapped duck I couldn't see care for FIVE more. LOL if that was the case I was just going to let them run there course. Answer NONE, Everything is FULLY INTACT. Crap.

NOW what to do. I have NO water in the incubator hoping some of that thickness will evaporate but it doesn't look good. Ive thought about making a hole where the Clear thick fluids are and maybe possibly drain some of it. out. I wouldn't do this though until they at LEAST pass there due date, so Possibly on Saturday. Doesn't look like theres ANY veins in the clear spot AT all. but If I'm gonna save these guys, I have to figure out a way to get that Thick ball of goo out of there.

SO IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY THOUGHTS. PLEASE THROW THEM MY WAY. EVEN IF WE CAN SAVE ONE, IT WILL BE GOOD BECAUSE THEN WE CAN SAVE THAT PROCEDURE FOR ANY FUTURE ONES

That's what I figured, I figured ok if they can at least Externally peep then I can get them out safely, Ill have to Clear there nostrils because this gooy stuff is going to be all over them, I will have to give them there first bath I'm sure once I get them out. I hope they can do it. but I surely have my doubts..

There are FIVE of them like that, I had set Nine of them, so Three of the eggs look good.

Hmmmm.....risky risky. Maybe on due date?

I wouldn't try to remove anything. I believe it is just albumen. I think they may need to cook longer to absorb more fluids and get bigger.
I don't think we should intervene at this point, or even their due date. Maybe give them 4 days after their due date, unless you see that they are dying before that, then you can begin to intervene with the remaining ducklings.

That's just what I would do...we don't want to rush anything, IMO.
