Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I quit turning on day 22 and lay them flat. I still mist them on day 22 and 23 and on day 23 I raise humidity to 65% for lockdown

Agree, I take mine off the turner on day 22 as well and lockdown on 23... Lately I have been raising my humidity to 70 to compensate for this warm weather. Temp stays the same though, I've read some people will lower the temp.

How about you guys?? Do you lower your Temps?? I don't

I lower mine to 99.9

My australian spotted is A great sitting hen. I put a bunch of call and indie eggs under her. The calls and indies will sit on eggs for about 2 weeks and then abanden them.

Any other tips for fixing wry neck? Poor little guy isn't doing as well as the other duckling. They have names now, Gailendale (can't say no to a four year old right?) and Igor.

On the sticky chicks I tried two different approaches. The first one, I only withdrew a little goo to get it started, then laid it on it's side, with the hole at the bottom onto the gauze pad, without taping it. That is the bibbed call that made it. The other I taped the gauze pad to the egg, the liquid on the pad caused the egg to infect. So no tape.

Also I figured a way to get vitamin water into a weak chick without any risk of it going into the lungs. First I used a vaccination type syringe (NO NEEDLE) Then I attached a piece of candula (that goes with oxygen) It is very soft and rubbery. I insert it through the mouth and into the stomach, and insert a few cc's at a time. It is like Gauge feeding, but not painful, and not over feeding them. I will add a picture next that I took with my phone camera.

I thought about doing that when they were freshly hatched and weak but I didn't dare. That scares the crap out of me. How do you know you aren't putting it straight into the lungs?
