SWIM TIME!!!
he is and I love their post swim primping. He's sooooo tiny...
Ok, I checked it and they are fertile. And technically only one week because I just found a secret nest that she had of 5 eggs. It was hidden under 1 and a half foot of snow and a half inch of ice. Sadly I found the nest the hard way. Was walking in their run and all of a sudden CRUNCH!In my past experienced I have noticed that the eggs won't show signs of life until after two weeks, anytime before they have come up unfertiled, with no progress. So to be absolutely sure your males love tool is doing the job right. Either test the eggs by putting them in your bator to see for signs of life or wait the two weeks giving them a chance to REALLY GET IT ON!! by then you should be very good to go.
Should I put fake eggs in the coop to encourage them to lay?
I agree. The fake eggs aren't intended to encourage the duck to lay, only to entice them to lay in a specific place if they're already laying. When they are ready they are ready, I don't think laying fake ones down will incourage them.
