Just wondering how much did you pay for those 60 duck eggs? What was the name of the ebay seller?

It was an auction, he was selling a bunch of sets of 10-18 eggs and this one said 48+- whatever was laid starting at $20, we went all the way up to $108, I had my max bid set at %150. He has good feedback. http://www.ebay.com/itm/311323707679

Still here! I was in school. I'm planning on hand turning the eggs since its my first hatch and I want to learn what its like. I'm running to TSC today or tomorrow to grab an Incubator so I can run it for 24 hours before i set the eggs. Since they are shipped should I let them settle and then candle and then set? Or candle and throw out the bad eggs and then let them settle and then set?

When you first get them, candle them, you want to see what the Air cells are doing and you will need to know if there are any hair line cracks, if there are some you will want to seal them up. My favorite is candle wax

So don't candle?

Yes candle them, look for hair line cracks and check out there air cells. you need to know which ones are loose, which ones are deatached and which ones look good..

Oh cool!! 150 isnt a bad price for 50 pure call eggs...

Yep! Shipping was $26, but I only had to pay for 48 eggs, he's sending me about fifteen extra.

No offense at all but just wanted to let you know, the ducks eggs parents arent SQ but might be pet quality or mixes.... here is a pic from the ebay site for lacrstol or any other that want to see

Okay, and how long do they need to settle before I set them? Where do I let them settle? Room temp? Laying down or in an egg carton?

Set them in an egg carton with the Larger end up. OR since you are going to candle them, look for the air cell and keep that air cell facing up.. I usually let mine set for 8 hours some like 24 hours others like 48 hours.

We don't know how fresh these eggs are so my theory is to get them going as soon as possible. why delay, they can setting inside the bator.
