It was a choice between go ahead and get a great deal on a full tack setup or my phone. I'm going to sound a bit like Aryeh here, but I wanted to go ahead and be able to ride her this week and get us acquainted with each other so I chose the saddle. I can be without my phone for a week. Lol
Horses eat lots too. My FIL didn't like my MIL's horse because it was a money suck with no purpose <-- his words not mine.

My neighbors are 1/4 mile away in each direction. Talk about loving thy neighbor. ;) The neighbors on one side are in-laws.

A 1/4 mile away from the nearest neighbor? That sounds divine!
We have four across the street from us but surrounded by fields on our side and we sit on 3 acres. Our mare and the two goats get about 1.75 is of it. And y'all have seen how pretty and green our grass is from the pics. They should be happy. The goats are more interested in the kudzoo just on the outside of the back pasture fence. It makes for a very dense thicket directly behind our property. Completely covers these two dilapidated tobacco barns....

We are splitting the pasture into at least two I think maybe three sections so we can rotate and let the grass recover. Right now the goat pasture look wild bc they don't eat it up quick enough. Thinking of sowing some Alfalfa, Bermuda, and a few other good grass seeds into the new sections. It will be a few weeks before we finish up the main pasture so plenty of time for it to start growing and get seeded good. Just to make it extra lush for her. And thank goodness we have good local feed mills and hay farmers! Lots of good field trails to explore. Our pond down the road to ride to..... She has parade experience too so we can represent our homestead in the fourth of July parade maybe. The guy said the people who traded her would braid ribbons into her main and tail. She may have some experience with cow cutting and barrels too. I'm just so excited

Needs some cleaning but here is my saddle! It's stamped and numbered! Great leather. Sits good too! And a nice comfy saddle pad to keep her comfortable and protect her too! It's also stamped!
