Yep, everything seems to be as it should be..The weather is brutal though. -30C this morning..

That's not too bad..They keep pushing back the days this cold weather is going to change....

Normally it isn't, but we have wind gusts up to 30 mph. It makes it really hard to breathe and it just tears at me everytime I go outside.
I really wanted to clean out the coop yesterday and the wind was just too brutal.

I know I need to clean too..All I have been doing is adding clean straw over the disgusting straw.....It will be a haul when I can finally get it replaced..

Haha me too. I got pine shavings this time. I just want to get that nasty straw out already it is driving me nuts.

Yes..I only use straw in the winter..What a stinking mess it becomes when the weather warms up.

Yeah I use pdz in the summer with some pine shavings on top. I can't wait to get back to that everything stays so much cleaner and smells better.
I finally culled my one leghorn hen thiis week. She was just getting too nasty.
All the chickens and ducks were out when I did it and I was worried they would be scared or angry at me, but about 30 min later a hawk started circling and everyone ran and squeezed around my legs like I was a momma hen, lol.
This was the first hen I culled. It was neat seeing all the yolks that were developing inside.
