Ducklings just don't want to stay still! I got a few pics for my ducklings, I got a guy that wants 5 so he'll be coming over sometime tomorrow to get them. that'l leave me with 21 ducklings, 3 mixes, 6 Rouens, and 12 khaki campbells. I might have 2 other people interested in the khakis as well. So I took their pictures before they went off.

I have too much time to sit here and think...I just noticed something here on BYC..People used to push antibiotics continuously before the US stopped making it so readily available...Now it's vitamins and Corrid being pushed..:th..Just an observation...:frow
I have always used nothing, from my experiences chickens don't recover long term from problems no matter what you do. Pretty sad they had to remove antibiotics from the shelves because people couldn't control themselves. Now everyone is using the injectable stuff. Won't be long before they remove that too, which is sad, stuff like penicillin still is good for goats kids if the get pneumonia from drinking like pigs from their bottles.

People need to come to terms with the fact that animals die, instead of always try to fix stuff. Prevention is best. I get it, but chickens don't respond to treatment the way other creatures do. Generally if a chicken is going you ain't gonna stop it. That's my 2 cents.

After contemplating things and then realizing, if I get ducks I have to integrate with the chickens if I want them to live harmoniously together.
So of course up late, I google "integrating chickens with ducks". Click on a you tube video which led me to other videos of drakes trying to mate chickens. :barnie
Then of course all night thinking about this. What if it doesn't work out like I had planned it in my mind? Then, what are my options? 2 separate runs and two separate housings?
So, can you tell me or better yet show me what your set up is like with regards to chickens and ducks?
I thought I had it all figured out. :(
My muscovy live with my chickens. There is no inter-species mating. There is occasional goosing between the species, but they tolerate each other. My shed is large, so I don't know if a smaller space will alter behaviors.
