Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

We are stuck under this Arctic air till Saturday ..Yikes..My Call Ducks want out so bad they are quacking their heads off...

Same goes for my seramas poor things... The snow is taller than them!

I candled my Call eggs...7 are viable so far out of 15..I think some got too cold before I collected them?..Oh well..Fingers crossed I can fill this order...

Fingers crossed! I'm still patiently waiting for my calls to start laying.. I had no idea how hard it is to wait to incubate eggs.. I've got two breeding flocks. Some, EEs 1 roo and some Barred rocks, 1 Roo and 8 hens.. I've also bought some black copper marans, 2 pullets and 1 cockerel.. They're about 2 months old so I don't plan on hatching them right this moment. I can hatch out some pure khakies for standard ducks but the rest would be mutts... Sorry now i'm just rambling about what I can hatch and what I can't...

Thats another problem... When my broodies would set i'd basically candle them everyday until they finally hatched... Broodies are absolutely awesome, my JG Mamma has had many 100% hatch rates and if one of my other broodies flunked out Mama would be there to take over the chicks and/or eggs. But I really can't rely on my broodies all the time sadly.

Pearl can be scary when Broody. Chased me out of the garage I set them up in..I ran like the wind with a huge Orpington chasing me..lol. Bad Chicken.
