Call Ducks or Bantams...Crazy Animals Around the Farm

These are the adults, no pictures of this year's cockerel or pullets, but very similar. They are laying a lot of eggs right now, unlike many of my other birds!
I got lucky; these birds are from Cackle originally, and I fell in love!

Weird how I've overlooked them for years, and suddenly I find myself interested in them. I already have my small order for 2018, I will have to wait. I definitely need smaller combed birds here. My Orpingtons have frostbite again already, poor boys

One of my Marans hens has some frostbite on her comb this week, but generally I have birds with little combs, and the single combed hens do okay. She's a surprise!
The EE bantams were just a 'fill in' for my 2015 order, but they are great! I think it's the colors, vigor, and egg color that has me so delighted. I really didn't need a third breeding group, but here I am... Mary

I found a guy here with some pretty bantam EEs, he wants to trade for some of my bantam cochin eggs this spring. I don't really need another breed, but seem drawn to them. Gotta free up a pen though. :hmm

I think I may go with some pastels... What do y'all think?
I'd suggest either snowy or pastel.. Though if I had to chose between the two i'd go with pastel ;)
Good evening! Home at last, and it's a warm 10F so far tonight. And snowing. Again.
The call ducks are so cute, all colors. No room here...
I'm working on some bantam EEs, love the View attachment 1220774 View attachment 1220775 View attachment 1220777 View attachment 1220779 colors, and nice aqua eggs;

Oh wow! :love:love:love Their colors are amazing~ And you got them from cackle? Man I gotta check out that place sometime..

I wonder what the cross was for the bantam EEs also. The aqua eggs lean toward a white egglayer rather than brown. The cock in the photo (Brad, as in "I loved Brad") weighted in at 3.1 lbs. this summer, solidly built. I should ask the folks at Cackle, if they know.
I'll try for pictures of this year's pullets, if we ever get sunshine when I'm home.
Pastel call ducks are totally beautiful!
