Call ducks?

Do you guys have any experiences with call ducks? I'm thinking about getting some but I don't know what they are like. Are they especially friendly birds? Or are they more skittish? I'd love to hear about it! (I didn't know you could tag posts so I made a repost)

Call ducks are great. I haven't owned enough to answer definitively but other sources I trust say they bond more closely with people.

I hatched 2 calls and 2 "mutts" at the end of October. I think they will be pied? But I am not sure. But they are super cute and 1/3 the size of the other two which are runner-swedish crosses (I think). I got the call duck eggs from a seller on Ebay. 2 hatched of 13 shipped in my incubator. I was thrilled that any hatched! The 2 calls are on the left of the second photo.

Howdy, call ducks are really interesting to raise....I had quite a few about 20 years ago. At that time, I had a 25 acre lake for them to stay on, they would raft out in the middle of the lake at night, so no predators got them. They weren't pinioned, so they could fly....very well. They would come up to me every time I went down to the lake....looking for a hand out. Their really pretty easy to raise. You'll be happy with them if you choose to raise'em.
