This is our first time with chicks. We have 3 Buff Orpingtons, 3 Speckled Sussex and 2 Leghorns. The Orpingtons are the sweetest of them all.

I'm so sorry, I didn't get notifications. How are they now?Thank you for replying. The first image of the Suspects, I circled the tails that look different to me. They are always the two that come running at me first, to peck at me. I have marks where they have nipped me. The second pic of the Two Buffs shows the one on the left with a tail that looks more like a "cone" (female I think) and the one beside it on the right has a tail more like a fishing lure (male I think). Quite a difference in their tails and their dispositions. They are 6 weeks old tomorrow. When do they start crowing?
No, where did you hear that?Do buffs really get a fatty liver disease? If so, I wonder why? Is there something particular to keep in mind?
