I just checked back in... wow, thanks everyone for posting such adorable pictures of chickens AND kids! I agree that they become beloved pets with distinct personalities, and the eggs are a nice bonus for a while ... our chickens will enjoy their full, natural life with lots of treats and pampering.

Ok, so this one didn't come out real well, dang phone pics..

I was sitting out, chillin with the flock a few days ago, and the New Hamp pullet, Buffy came over to see me. She's such a love

and always enjoys snuggle time! She'll lay over nestled under my neck with her head on my shoulder and take a nap
