Hatched 30 Coturnix quail on the 8th. No early or late hatchers in this incubator! They all came out in two waves of pipping and zipping.

Bordergurl, I love your avatar! Can you post pics of your weims? I miss ours! We've had 3 over the past 17 years, but our last passed about a year ago. Beautiful and crazy dogs. Do yours point the chickens? I know if we still had ours they would have eaten their way through the bathroom door to get to the chicks! Sorry to go off topic, but your avatar makes me laugh each time I see it.

have taught both my weims and my neighbours GSP to leave my birds alone. We used to raise pheasants to train them with and those chicks made them very excitable! When the chicks hatch I just show them to the dogs announce they are mine, and life is good! Now my siamese and the chicks is another story! He wraps himself around the bator and the brooder making me very nervous!

And on the hatching front, I woke to a pip on egg # 2 this morning!
