Calling All Rabbit Nutters

Does Treb need this?
It depends on if
A) The disease is present in your state
B) The vaccine has been authorized for use in your area (in NM it was imported and given emergency authorization last year).

So you will probably need to do some research. If the answer to both a and b is yes, I would definitely get it. The disease is highly contagious and always fatal.

Wow, that's a lot! Generally, in this area, it's around $100, but never above $200. I think Chili's neuter was around $50-$80, because the rescue has an agreement with that particular vet. We didn't actually pay for Chili's neuter though, because the rescue payed for it.
Well I talked to my vet and if we don’t do the vaccines and other exams she said she’ll bring it down to $158 which is Wayyy cheaper 🤔😬

The place I plan on taking Treb did not mention anything about x-rays or vaccines.
I need to remember to call them tomorrow to schedule his appointment.

Alright, I called a couple I wil try to find which one is the most affordable one because my mom is not willing to pay over $200 for a neuter 😕
From my understanding fixing/neutering a rabbit is difficult and often times not successful which results in the death of the rabbit. I have not gone thru this process yet. For my understanding a lot of bunny owners choose not to fix their bunnies to begin with.

If the vet has not seen rabbits or performed these surgeries before I would not bring my pet bunny to let them practice on.

I'm so sorry for being confused but you recently got two bunnies correct?

Actually, my experience is the opposite. The vet that I took Chili to sees lots of bunnies, and the neutering was a very quick and easy procedure. It just takes a couple minutes. Of course, there are always risks with anesthesia in small animals, but the neuter is so quick, it's pretty rare that a bunny dies (although it can happen of course).
