Calling All Rabbit Nutters

😭😭😭😭. Is the gray storage bin the litter box? What a great idea if it is!
That's the diggy box! It's just a LARGE storage tub with a bottomless 5-gallon bucket as the "entrance to their burrow". Seems to fool them, lol. They do leave bunny nuggets in there, though.

Their litter box is over by their hutch...

Those cat scratchers are awesome!

Niven also has a dig box. Hers is full of hay, paper, and bits of her old toys. Periodically I sprinkle some forage mix in there. She loves hunting for the tastiest bits.

Sticks, especially apple wood. She has a cardboard tray I keep stocked with various sticks for her to choose from.

Balls: willow, palm, or sea grass. Loves destroying those. Or just dunking them in her water dish.

Hay treats. We get both the oxbow lollipops and the dumbbells. They are great for when we are going to be gone longer than usual or when we need a distraction to keep her out from underfoot.

Any toy that can be filled with a few treats or pellets are also a big hit (stacking cups etc).
Gotta keep them busy!

Ours love the Kaytee Hay Cubes...pretty simple compressed hay but they are dense and make for some great chew time! Sweeping and vacuuming the residue is always fun...and cleaning out the heat vent they drop them in...

The things we do....

Might have to try the hay cubes. And we don’t have centralized heating/cooling so no vents to worry about 😅

They are little buggers for sure.

We have taken to barricading all of our couches now since one of mine found a way to get under them. It is now their MISSION to get back under there, and this is not a permanent solution, lol

You didn't need to use your furniture ever again, did you?

If you're looking for ideas to keep them from going under the couch, I've used 2x4s tucked just under the couch (on whichever sides of the couch are accessible). Depending on the size of the gap between floor and couch bottom, get whatever size wood would work.

Boo (black male) and Ivy ("cow" female). They are English Spotted

Animal shelters often mis-identify breeds. The English Spot label is often (wrongly) given to any white rabbit with black markings. Most rabbits from shelters are mixes anyway. Almost all of my past rabbits were mixes from rescues. We love them just the same!

Anyway, this is what a true English Spot looks like:

And this is a great video showing how many other breeds are mistaken for being English Spots.
