Calling all rosecomb breeders does any have these

Funny you should ask about those. I saw my first mottled rosecomb the other day. She was a blue mottled hen. She had just been sold to someone and I half wish I had bought her to start a mottled breeding program with.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone who currently breeds them. They are around though so keep your eyes open.

They are looking a bit rough. I think it's like a lot of breeds where blacks are the main variety. With cochins as well as rosecombs, the blacks seem to take best of breed everytime. With cochins; buffs, whites and mottleds are well bred to have excellent cushions while newer, less popular varities like mille fleur and columbian lack that type.

These particular birds will need a lot of work to get them ready for show but the color is nice. Mottling is such a stunning variety in any chicken. I have mottled cochins and they are just striking against the Spring green grass.

But, to answer you question, there are only a few rosecomb breeders on here that I know of. UC has whites and bbreds? I believe as well as blue/blacks. Rosecomb-ryan has blue reds, blue/blacks and maybe a few others but no mottleds.

Good Luck on your search.
