So. I, as the nursing student, have been enlisted to try and help, with all of my three months of training

Anyway. You clearly don't want to tell your parents, so there's no use in telling you to do it again. That would be the best thing to do, but honestly a finger isn't life threatening, and grumpy parents are honestly scary.

A few things:
Ice and ibuprofen should be just fine.
How much does it hurt, on a scale of 1-10, 1 being not much pain at all and 10 being the most pain you've ever experienced?
Can you move the finger at all?
Is it swollen?

It's fine if you don't want to answer the questions, it's just a lot easier to help if we know more about it.

it's swelling a bit. i cant feel it. it went numb when i first hurt it and then i started feeling pain and now it's numb again
