I learned from youtube.... actually I learned how to sew crochet knit and play the piano on youtube. I would definitely check out jonna martinez, she doesnt do amigurumi but she taught me the basics!

I read that the yarn the kit included wasn't very good so I think I have to order my own yarn and just follow what the kit says to do.

I would definitely get your own yarn. red heart super saver isnt that much and ots my go to yarn for amigurumi. But for that pattern I'd get bernat blanket yarn since it has to be bulky

Bernat blanket yarn is a little more on the expensive side though i think it was 10 for a skein of 220 yards

Ok thanks! I don't Think I will need too much. although I'll probably have to make a sacrificial practice chicken before I make my 4-h one so I can get it right lol. I think we have some old yarn somewhere in our house that I could practice on until I get the pattern and blanket yarn

ok I found a basically unused roll of some pink, red heart yarn and like a thousand crochet hook thingys. (I can't remember what they're called lol) I guess I'm going to try and learn how to crochet lol
