Calling all teenagers

It definitely can be. I just hatched eggs for the first time when I hatched my rooster's baby and you have to monitor the eggs closely to make sure the humidity and temperature is right, but the incubator does most of the work! the stressful part is probably the hatching! I was so worried something would go wrong but luckily baby chick had a perfect hatch! :)

Yeah, I read the hatch-rate is a bit higher when the hens hatch the eggs. but I guess a machine will never know better than the mother hen herself! None of my hens have gone broody for long enough and always abandon the eggs. just this last time I finally got an incubator so I was able to save them :D

That's good! That is one of the reasons an orpington is high on my list lol
