Actually, I did, too. Probably from the same book; I don't remember any more, but it sounds very familiar. I remember buying huge quantities of real plain yogurt, and lactose from the pharmacist. He finally asked me why I was buying all that lactose, saying he needed to know. (He had guessed I was making formula.) That's how I learned it is also used to cut heroin.
Yep, I think
is was the same book, LOL. And I used whole and sometimes, even raw, milk, too.
OK, you have refreshed this old memory; that was indeed the book. I only waited about 4 months to offer the first foods, then at about 7 or 8 months, I switched to whole milk and select foods only. I never used whole milk in the formula, though; back then, I would have been afraid to. I might have been tempted to if I had had access to raw milk! It was such a relief when the MD said I could start whole milk that young, and quit making that mess for him.
I did buy a little commercial baby food, but mostly made my own, mostly with fresh foods and a blender; froze it in ice cube trays. Was working nights and living in a rental unit. You have brought back some memories!
