Dehydrating cherry tomatoes cut in halves. I haven't tried the big ones. It took 15 hours to dry the little cherry tomatoes. We've done 2 batches, and plan to start more tonight.

I see you've been on BYC 11 years! How long have you lived in MO? Are you near Joplin?
We were going to move to Oregon to be near our kids, but this year it has made more sense to simply remain here....one of our daughters moved back from Portland. It is definitely cheaper to live here!

I have lived in Missouri since 2011. I am in the little town of Hartville. It is just over an hour from Springfield and 35 miles from Lebanon where Cackle Hatchery is. Even though the population is only 600, for some strange reason it is the county seat of Wright County. There was a Civil War battle fought here. From all accounts it was a disorganized melee with no clear winner. Every few years they stage a reenactment in town to commemorate it. I have never attended it because I do not want to deal with crowds and traffic, but I can hear the cannon fire. So can the dogs. They don't like it much.

I’m so glad you finally joined this thread! We are more in the smack dab middle of Mo, toward the west. I’m sorry to hear about you husband....... And yes Missouri May have four seasons but the weather is whack here!
