I didn’t get a picture today before they took out the garage door and the previous wall and man door. But here is the big open hole they are going to build a new wall into. They will leave an opening for a window and to replace the man door.

https://extension.missouri.edu/publications/g6201?p=1 shows Barton County to be in the Central planting zone of Missouri.

So from the chart on page 3 Bush Beans are best planted 4/15–5/20 in your area.
They show one zucchini with the best planting dates of 5/10–30.

Might be a bit early for you...

I have some tomato plants in pots outside right now but looks like they will be back inside in a couple of days as it's way to early even in the Southern Planting Zone to put them in the ground.

Sadly I've failed at installing a pinless peeper on Miss Behaving. She now has two more sisters with private accommodations. I actually found one video that showed putting them on but I just can't see the nares well enough to make sure I don't hurt her. I don't know who was stressed more me or the bird.

Oh well. Yeah, it’s really stressful. Well at least you got to try it and find out. We got them on one hen successfully but I hope I never have to do it again. I am going (hopefully) to re-home 3 leghorns at the local poultry swap to alleviate some of the tension in the flock.

Hmm, that sounds like a good idea... take Miss Behaving to the Sale Barn on Friday and put a $25 price tag on her. I don't need 12 Cinnamon Queens for sure. And when the other two look presentable take them as well...

On the ride back from the River Ridge Winery I had an idea to subdivide the hen yard. It's way big for the 5 hens so I figured they could spare some real estate. I scrounged up a gate I had cobbled up and a few T posts and some chicken wire. Finally a proper place to use chicken wire inside the heavily fortified and hot wire protected hen yard.

This is one of the feather pluckers Blondie in her new larger area. I'll add one more to see how they get along as I really hate to keep them in cages but the feather pulling must stop now.

Gotta scrounge through my wood to see if I can cobble up some sort of roof over the perch.

Well... I put Miss Behaving in with Blondie and within a minute or two Blondie is trying to pluck feathers from Miss Behaving. I put Blondie back in jail and went to work on something, came back and Miss Behaving had flown over the 5' chain link fence to get back to the rest. So I tested her by putting her back in with the rest and within a couple of minutes she's trying to pluck feathers... back in jail for her. So now BP3 is in the pen to see what she does. I'm not building anything else till I can tell if they will stay out there.
