Building stairs is pretty easy after you get done crying about how much the lumber cost you. The 3 stringers would be 2x12x16 or 14 at $90 each and for the treads you would need 7 2x6x12 boards at $30 each for 3' wide treads. So you're looking at $500 just for materials. I have a book I can lend you if you want to build them yourself.
Thanks, Dave ( my hubby) says the only problem is that he already knows he won’t like the formula results. 🤣
The space we have for the stairs to go doesn’t seem like it’s really enough room. So, they are either going to be really steep stairs or come down a bit and then turn. 🤷‍♀️

I ended up doing a landing with a turn and one more step to keep from having them too steep. I had 10'9" of run and 8'8" of rise on my basement stairs.

My broody hen ( who has been broody for 2 or 3 months 😳🙄) finally hatched a chick!! We will see if any of the other eggs hatch. Not sure when this one hatched. We left Tuesday ( no chicks) and got back today ( Thursday) to find 1 fluffy black chick and broody still sitting on the other eggs.
Bet they aren't this cute. 😋

What I do to break a broody hen is put her in a wire bottom cage for 3 days and 3 nights. Mine is in the basement. They go back to normal after that.

Is the wire bottom important? I moved her to the Chicken Clink and she has not tried to sit on anything so far. No eggs in sight in there unless she lays one.
