Been raining all day yesterday, last night and now... gotta go open up the coops in the rain.

38º and raining. I opened the coops and no one came out.

2 1/2" inches of rain so far... Coop Deux the hens came out into their covered run, looks like Coop Uno they all are under the coop. I'll watch the radar to see when I might dash out and clean the coops. It is a good day for napping!

38º and raining. I opened the coops and no one came out.

Ours came out of the coop and went straight under the Bus Stop. This is a sheet of corrugated roofing attached to two sawhorses. A little later we opened the gates so they could free range. They free ranged straight to under the carport. More room, but still no forage or bugs. We'll move their feeder under there so they'll have something to eat, poor things. Oh, they'll get out in it, no doubt. We're on our way to St Louis again. Home leave for The Kid is over, back to school!

Been spending 3 days weatherproofing and cleaning animal pens. I will be glad for the sunny week coming.

It was 26º here this morning. We got about 2” rain, but now it’s sunny and no wind….
I think I’ll carve a pumpkin for the BYC pumpkin carving contest
