Welcome! I am sorry that your fellow Okies have not been very friendly. What kind of chickens do you have? One of my best friends lives in Vian, Ok. How is the weather there? It is finally warming up again here. The NPIP tester was out to my house this morning. I am glad we had nice weather for it after all this rain and cold. Have a great day, and welcome again.

Glad you decided to hang out with us.
I've been busy moving the last 2 weeks. Only 5 min away to my parents farm. I tell you its amazing all the junk a person can collect over the years lol. I guess that may be the only perk to moving...sorting through and eliminating nonessentials!
At least its been dry this week. So grateful for that.

Thank you for the tip! I will continue asking around on the forum and see if she could possibly be a marans. Do you happen to have any pics of yours when he/she was a chick for comparison?

Oh yes, that definitely looks similar to her! She even has a little bald spot kinda like his, but more on her shoulder. I think what was throwing me (and others) off is that she has a black comb. I'm interested to see if it does actually turn red as she matures. Thank you very much for posting, I appreciate the help a lot!

I am thinning the flock and taking some to the swap this Saturday in bonne Tere ( I cant spell worth a hoot) it is at hwy 67 and K at the family center (feed store) it starts at 7:00 I also have some mixed chicks lav orp daddy and you guess the mommy. I think I am going to take some light sussex chicks too. the eggs came from pearly sue she got the parents from Greenfire.

So, the Dorkings have a new home and now I've decided to send the Sussex on their way.

I have a Coronation Sussex rooster. He is one of the prettiest things I've ever seen but dumb as a fence post. I know he's viable as he has fathered (without my consent) several chicks with the Dorkings. LOL
I also have a Split Light Sussex hen who isn't laying yet, she is also very, VERY pretty and not nearly as dumb as the Rooster. They are completely bonded though. In a way, I've never seen chickens bond. So, they MUST go together.

Finally, I have a Light Sussex hen who is a year old and lays like there is no tomorrow. She came from a different breeder and isn't nearly as showy as the other two but she's friendly, and will make a great breeding stock for your Coronations.

Let me know if you are interested.

I want $60.00 for all three.

Dave
