I heard about the tornado that hit Oklahoma and was worried my sister got caught in it... I don't think it hit near her though. I can't believe the losses were mostly children, that's terrible.

We're definitely going to get a bigger box for the babies, they're a lot bigger now and getting noticeably more aggressive which may be related to the lack of space. One made a feint at my hand while I was changing their food and stayed still while I petted her chest. I'm thinking she's one of the dominant ones, she wasn't scared of me at all! Most of them seem to be warming up to hands but are still pretty easily spooked, I should probably work with those jumpy ones since they probably cause the entire flock to run. Aside from that, they all seem pretty chirpy and content. Does anyone else have any experiences with chicks having different 'voices'? I've heard some that remind me of the songbirds they can probably hear outside but I can never single them out.
 
So you did get two at least? Plus the woodscolt? Purdy birdies!

The legbars were a total bust. Went to do an egg-topsy, just tapped the egg and it exploded! Pitched the rest into the woods - some exploded in air. Moicey. Foulest stench, can't imagine but that phrase gag a maggot comes to mind. Just didn't develop at all. TG did it outside!

Breeder was outstanding. When I reported the hatch results, immediately offered to replace. Hadn't expected that, take your chances on eggs an all. Awesome! So will get to give it another go.

Not different source, replacements for the batch where I got 0 hatched. And yes I am having a friend who has a 6' cabinet incubator hatch these for me.
And I got the bonus GL Polish!!!
Went to town yesterday and there was a lady with tomato plants and silkie babies, so I her last 3. Two are yellow, so I assume they will be white, and 1 is black.!

I am assuming you meant "so I BOUGHT her last 3." correct me if I am wrong. If I am right its because my kids and wife all like to omit words, or add lots to THEIR memory.

Tomoorow is set date for rouen and guinea eggs. And 1 week from them I am setting SLCxBO eggs. See if I can make some super broody cold hardy birds. Or just some more mush in my yard. This fall my SLC is going in with my SLW pullets. Ideally, dominant genes from themshould give me FF/RC. But these are just a couple of my exsperiments I am going to try.

Gotta love the family that more or less supports anything I want to do, with what I have. Even got the maybe on buying a breeder or 2 during fair time if I don't find any before hand. Most 4H/FFA birds have a 4 sale sign on them 5 minutes after judging is done as well as rabbits and any other show animal. Can get costly, but still ALOT cheaper than breeder eggs for me. And with chicken math we all know what just 2 birds can do for a person.

What is SLC and FF/RC? And what breed of breeders?
If I remember right 4H/FFA are typically hatchery birds?
I may DOHHHHHH on the response but trying to register what you're saying this morning and failing miserably.
