I am so proud of my birds! My vet reports everyone is having such an awful time with ticks this year....none of my family, including my dogs has had even one tick this Spring! My birdies are tick eating machines!!!!

Hope your DH feels better soon. Thats why I dunna eat raw fish, unless on a bet/dare. Or just to gross out the kids.I convinced DH we need more guineas... The noise is our issue wirh them. Don't really like being woke up to their 'barking'. I 'lovingly' call the 2 I have Squeaky Swing and Needs Oil. But i told him the chickens don't eat ticks... Guess they do??? I didn't think they did. Shhh don't tell him!
True story - DH just has surgery on his hip... has a drain tube in. Last night he had sushi from one of the grocery stores (had it before and loved it, me yuck!). Anyway this morning at 7:30, he's in the bathroom puking! So on top o the pain from surgery and the pain of having a drain tube, he just had to get bad food! Can he get a break?!?! Lol! I say that's what you get for spending that much money of raw fish!
Anyway, hope ya'll are enjoying this humid Memorial Day! (Thought we were getting rain...)

Good job convincing him about guineas.
And I AM getting rain. Alot, hoping it doesn't flood my broody guineas and their eggs. Meat birds are all getting a mud bath it looks like.
1 with compacted crop looks to have worked it thru. Left him in a cage with water and no feed for 24 hrs and his crop is soft and he's up and about. Waiting to feed him til PM though make sure he's cleared it all out.
BTW what area of Mo you live in? I mighthave ALOT of keets soon. 80 eggs cooking (1 50 setting 1 30.) And at least 1 broody on a nest. Possibly a 2nd hen setting. Hatcheries minimum orders are a pain with guineas. And their prices are not to smile about either, at least from my point of view.![]()
Or if you want to go otherroute I can get 2 1/2 dozen a week from my seed nest. I have guinea-itis.
