Ya, we didn't get a Spring, a Fall would sure be nice. It's my favorite time of year. I hope my new chicks will train the older ones to use horizontal nipples. I may get some cooler extensions for the nipples and try that through the winter.I'm sure liking this cooler weather... makes you think about heated water buckets lol. I hope we get a fall this year.

They sure are cute though. That reminds me, I need to get a good pair of rubber boots.Ugh. . hauling water in winter is the worst part of keeping ducks.![]()
How many of you got a sale/grand opening catalogue from Mennards in Springfield? We did, and we're about 75 miles away. They also had a 40 page insert in our local little paper, which without it, is only 12 pages.....I know because I put that part under my broody buster cage,. My Sebright has gone broody every month without fail. She's in the basement right now.
What kind did you get? All same breed or many?I got one, but haven’t taken the time to look at it. I’m glad they finally opened, I just hate crowded shopping. I’ll visit after all the hoopla dies down. My son in Ohio is a big fan of the store.
Hi, Kgee here, just north of Springfield. I’m back in chickens after a few year hiatus & loving them. I have 23 girls from Cackle (ordered 20) that are 12 1/2 weeks old & thriving. All still look like pullets to me, which is what I ordered, but I wouldn’t be upset if one happened to be a cockerel.
