Girls are 13 weeks today. I haven’t opened the nests yet. Any advice on when I should? I was thinking at 15-16 weeks. I’m starting to see some waddles.

Wattles, and combs?....lets see some pics then. Were they hatched in June? I had late May chicks 2 yrs ago and they waited till spring to lay. The days are getting shorter, fingers crossed that yours won't wait.

Thanks! I’m so tickled with it & chicks are happy. It was a slow, slow build. Still need to wire electric into the coop (already in the run) & figure the water situation so I can quit lugging it. I purchased netting for the yard...still pondering how to install.

Sure would be nice to be done with mowing for the year. Things are as green as spring around here.

Agreed.... my weeds need mowing ... but on the plus side the grass seed (fescue and clover) a put down is doing pretty!

So everyone, what color car do you have? ...

We have a blue full size truck, a silver sedan, and I my old small truck which is silver/tan... I think it's called "Silver Birch" or something like that...

I like silver because it doesn't show dirt. Which lines up with this statement about being practical... not sure any of the rest holds true though.

I got my RIR's in August of last year and once they started laying they never stopped... of course the mad wizard in me gave them 14 hours of light through the winter.
