calling any one from missouri

Coons are terrible!! I got to the point I would make sure my cat food bowl is full because they will eat that before the chicks if easy access. Then i we see them they get the shotgun... Haven't seen one in a few weeks since we offed the last one... :)

An update on our end since I've been neglecting this topic. The black sexlinks are doing great, they seem to be enjoying their hoop coop but we need to move it to another spot and also reduce their flock down from 23 to 6. Anyone want any pullets? And I swear those little red broilers grew half an inch overnight!

Had three guineas escape from their box today; two this morning, then another one just now. Thankfully I don't think anyone got into anything bad, they seemed to be happy just sitting down on the floor near their box (probably wondering how the heck they're gonna get back in!) and the ones this morning still seem very healthy. We're working on the coop as fast as we can little buddies, just give us a couple more days! I also swear I heard a buckwheat from one of the lavenders but I don't know if they're old enough for that yet.

Oddly enough I was able to pick up one of the escapees just fine without ANY freak-outs, it just wanted to wiggle out of my hands to perch on them as I moved it back to the box. I'm actually kind of amazed, it seemed pretty docile what with being picked up for the first time in a long while. Is this just how they act when they're young and have been separated from the rest of the flock? They're almost six weeks old.

Hey everyone! I'm a newbie here to BYC and wanted to say hi from Saint Louis. I live in the city and have a small backyard flock. I am excited to talk to anyone who breeds the true dark chocolate brown egg laying Marans or sky blue laying Ameraucana. I'm not looking for Easter Eggers, or Marans that don't lay above a 7 on the Marans scale. If you raise these chicks or pullets, or know where I can get some, I would appreciate your help! My hatchery Marans are laying lighter than many RIR or Sex links :( I look forward to hearing from you and happy chicken-ing everyone!
