calling any one from missouri

@ChickenCanoe Did you feel the earthquake?
No but I've never felt one here. Once there was one that woke the wife and kids and I didn't feel a thing.
How big was it? I heard it was the largest in OK history.
I was talking to a friend in CA yesterday. He said there was a 2.5 which is small but the epicenter was his subdivision, his street. 2.5 is small but he didn't feel a thing.

I didn't feel it in Jefferson County (Cedar Hill). I remember living in unincorporated St. Louis County as a kid and feeling them pretty often. I have rarely felt any as an adult. We live right on the New Madrid fault line, so I guess that it's a good thing (or a bad thing if it's saving up for a major quake).
The only earthquake I've ever felt was standing at a hardware store counter in Costa Rica. At first I thought a big truck was driving by but when it kept going and the whole building was shaking I realized I felt my first earthquake.
The locals there feel them all the time.

Hi everyone in SW MO! Tomorrow is the annual Chicken Pageant in Diamond, MO. It's a regular feature of their Gem City Days and is a lot of fun. Gem City Days is a nostalgic small town event, and for the pageant, residents of all ages enter their chickens dressed in costumes. Chicken related prizes donated by a local feed store are offered, and the event benefits a local charity. There will be a parade at 10, and the pageant begins at noon, after a talent show. I will be there to take photos of the chickens and post them on BYC, Maybe we can encourage BYCers to dress up their chickens for an online pageant right here.

Hi everyone, I live in Kansas city, in the northland for anyone familiar. I am new to chicks, I have 5 that are a little over 7 weeks. I know for sure 2 are pullets, but not sure on the other 3. Waiting it out I guess! We built a pretty nice coop/run in my backyard, and I think they like it. Let them out to roam every other day or so when I can be there. I worry about them all the time! I'm glad it's still been relatively warm here since there still young. But I'm learning a lot and glad to be here!

Welcome! Ditto on the egg.
I rarely let mine out when I am not around either.
