calling any one from missouri

Please don't go to Cackle! I was there just the other day and they had deformed ducklings, a few even had misshapen skulls, in the bin for sale and zero food and water for them. The guy told me they can't have water because they get each other too wet. Then he said they're controlling their food and water so they can't have any. Which is it dude? These were 2 week old ducklings. It's pretty common practice with ducks to do 12 and 12 with food and water (12 hours with, 12 without), but this was 10:30am. With business hours being as they are they couldn't have provided food and water for long enough for all the ducklings to get sufficient amounts before withdrawing it. Simply put, the grease ball at the counter didn't feel like going and filling the water or food. We've bought quite a few birds from Cackle, but seeing what they were willing to give to a customer in the name of making a sale was pretty nauseating.

Really, that's too bad that they do that like that, I have wondered before why they don't have water out for them. I have bought from them a few times over the years & bought 3 from them this year & all of them died, & I did everything the same as any other time. I ended up getting some from heartland I believe & they have all done excellent. Although I did buy 2 lavender chicks from cackle a couple weeks ago, but they were already 3 wks of age, they have been doing good. That's just sad though that hatcheries get like that.

Copy your post and either email it or mail it to Cackle. Make sure it gets to management.

Trust me. NO business wants this kind of bad advertising and likely they do not know what is going on 'up front'. I have emailed Cackle before and they got back to me quickly. I hate hearing this as I had planned to buy chicks from them next spring....maybe better look around.

We are from Eureka Mo. and looking for a home for our rooster who was supposed to be a pullet. He's a Plymouth Barred Rock and he's 10 weeks old, just beginning his crowing. Very friendly. And of course we want him to have a home and not a stew pot.
400

Unless somebody can identify him as a her
Thanks

I bought 12 from heartland hatchery last year and all made it to adulthood with zero issues.

Yea, I would recommend them. This was my first year buying from him but he was quick to respond to my calls & all 13 of my chicks have done great, not a single one got pasty butt & I usually would always at least have 1 with it. My only complaint would be that I told him I wanted 4 of his red frizzle chicks & not one of them has turned out to be frizzle, & I thought that that was something you could tell right away usually. So I have 4 really cute little red Cochins that I'll be trying to find a home for for free, as long as their going to a good home. But other than that I really like them there & I should have looked at them real close when I bought them, so that's on me.

Hi in Eureka! We are in Cedar Hill, not very far from you at all. I hope you are staying dry & safe with all the flooding going on! Sorry, I don't need another rooster, I already have 3 adult roo's and at least 1 of the chicks that hatched last month is a rooster.

I haven't gotten to deal with the actual owner, just his son Miles. Not the friendliest human on earth but I was happy with my chicks.

Depending on where you live I have room for four more- I don't have anything fun to trade you though!

We are actually on Hoene Springs Island now. Thankfully we are high and dry just stranded.
We are going to keep looking for a home for him but would love for someone to verify that she is a he. I understand Hens can crow occasionally too.

I'm about 20 minutes east of Springfield. I make it up to Springfield and also Lebanon very often though, so if your possibly close enough, I wouldn't mind to meet you. I'm not worried about trading anything, I don't need or have room for anything else, lol.
