calling any one from missouri

Hi fellow Missouri peeps! I'm in southwest Missouri and I am looking for some female call ducks to keep my boys company. I have two drake and only one girl. I need at least three more girls. Having trouble finding any sellers/breeders. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

In my searching for chicks, I found Estes Hatchery in Springfield, they advertise ducklings/ducks, they also have a store front. Have not been there but considered driving there from KC metro for chicks but didn't.

Thank you! I didn't even know that was there. It doesn't look like they have calls though. I think I've found someone to help me out on that but still nice to know about the hatchery I'll have to go visit and check it out!

I know nothing about types of ducks, just was sure I had seen them list some ducks. Nice that you found a source.

're Estes hatchery....We have gone there each year to get our chicks.....It's not much of a storefront....It's a run down building, you go up the porch steps, past sleeping cats, past the old piano, and open the old screen door into the office. You stand at the little counter and they will bring what you request. Very nice people, still in same family for generations. Walk in customers always welcome. It's like walking into the past.
I'd like to go to Cacklehatchery.com in Lebonon, it's further for me, but more breeds, a real storefront w lots of specials available for walk in customers. However this spring I wanted 4 Brown leghorns, called Cackle and asked, can I come today and get them? They said, to be sure you'd have to order them online first and we'll give you a pickup date. Fair enuf, but I could only go that day. Called Estes, asked, can I show up this morning and get 4 Br. Leghorns? Sure, they said. So I got them there. Smaller setup, less complicated. All chicks were correctly sexed each time, it's not too long a drive, so they are our go to place.

Well, it would be hit or miss for specific breeds, but it might worth checking out Joplin's poultry swap tomorrow...at Turkey Creek Feed:

Interesting, just found them online haven't been there and they sounded nice. I like family stores. Have never been there. If I ever get to Springfield again will have to stop in.

My chicks are growing like crazy!! The EE's are getting long feathers around their necks. I need to get my coop and run done. I turned the heat lamp off last night, it has been off during the day periodically. Hoping this weekend will allow me to get it mostly built and then corral my grandsons to help with the roof. The weather sounds super steamy with all this rain so hoping my bronchitis and asthma don't slow me down much.

More rain last night after 6+ inches the previous 2. Have grandkids' ball tourney games at 11:30 and 2:00 then a couple tomorrow that will cut into my time. Menards stop on the way home from the games for more supplies. A little earlier off work on Monday and off the 4th with no plans as have to leave for work too early on Wed. Hoping the rain predicted for Mon and Tues doesn't happen. As after today much has to be outside work. I wish I had a week off work to get this done.

Not as much progress done today as I hoped. Part of one wall screwed together then ball game, only stayed for one of two. This bronchitis is not being nice to me today. Went to Menards, the plywood was not fitting well into my SUV (first time hauling 4x8's in my new car). DD was at the ballgame with her truck right near there so met her back there after the 2nd game. Plywood is home, will have to borrow a truck for the rest I need for the roof later. Bronchitis has stopped me for the day for anything physical ;((

Sorry to hear, jeria that you are having a hard time....
I went to poultry swap. Someone did have call ducks but no females. The meet was different than my previous visit. It just seemed muddy and stinky and distressing. I wouldn't want any animal from the conditions I saw most of them in.
If I want more birds, I'll raise them myself, or if I get lucky, I'll have a broody to do it for me.
