calling any one from missouri

That's the only color I have bloomed at the moment.
I have some dark purple ones and some yellow.

I love that crimson and yellow one in biddies picture!
I don't plant a lot of pink flowers. I like the Orange, purple, yellow, red. I think my knock out rose tree is the only pink thing I have. It isn't doing too good anymore. The ants got inside the bark last year and made it weak and about half of it broke off.

Also I saw gooseberries yesterday.... probably just a bit early to pick them but will be time soon... gooseberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream is one on my favorites!

How do you tell when a gooseberry is ripe? I don't think I ever knew what they looked like nor have I ever eaten anything with gooseberry in it!

Finally a little sunshine so the irises can un-sog for a bit!;)...

Btw... did your orioles ever show up? I’ve had a few, but I think all the rain has messed with them..... there are however more this morning....

...the hummingbirds are in full force now though... there were close to 20 last night at dusk....

... that’s typically more in line with how many we have towards the end of summer when the young’ins are grown... hope that doesn’t mean we’re gonna have 50 in August, or feeding them is going to be a full time endeavor :th

I've had my hummingbird feeders out for about 2 or 3 weeks. Haven't seen any hummers yet. We usually have 2 to 4 that frequent our feeders. They must have gotten side tracked at your house! :lau
I love the picture of the hummingbird :love
I would imagine that you will get at least another 1 or 2 chickies to join your early bird:fl

I'm with SueT our irises are just getting ready to bloom. I saw about 3 blooms (purple) down by our mailbox.

My chicken yard needs to dry out. It is a MESS! :rant
Oh, I successfully followed my turkey hen this morning. It was kind of funny. I had to follow her in spy mode! :gig Whenever she caught me looking her way she would stop any meander around awhile until she thought I wasn't watching. Now when she goes back to the chicken yard I can go into the far corner of the carport storage part and see how many eggs she has stashed back there! I haven't gotten any eggs from her yet, so I am not sure how long she has been laying them.

Edited to add: I put out 2 orange halves but I haven't seen anything interested in them. Probably in part due to all the rain we have had.

Well when ripe they turn purple-ish... but most folks pick them green... they’re sour ... sorta like a green apple...

For Gooseberry pie you add a lots of sugar/ honey to sweeten them up...

... a lot of people don’t care for them... I just want about 2 pies worth a year ...

I have pretty big bush by the coop that a watch to see when to go brave the tall grass and ticks that SueT is so fond of ;) in search of more... so far they’re kind of watery... the need some sunshine!
