I’m not a worrier by nature.... but I’m getting concerned ... @SueT we’re hoping everything is ok
I had to drive to KC airport to pick up my husband who has been in Oregon, just got back home. We did not get any damage but it rained like crazy, the road was a series of lakes. It's all drained away now. We did have a tornado in the SE corner of our county, we're in the NW corner. It was a tense night watching weather updates all evening....

Golden city feed store was hit I heard.

Sorry I didn't check in! I was so stressed about the continuing weather and having to make a drive thru it. There was a lot of thunder close, so I only checked MoDot for closures, then unplugged the router. I should mention I don't have a smart phone.....so can't just check internet wherever.
Now it's so calm and the fireflies are out.....all the singing insects are creating a beautiful symphony. Sigh of relief....

Well I overlooked one last iris that had yet to bloom... this speckledy purple one

I caught the Spitzhauben pair this morning and we delivered them to the Amish couple that wanted them. She asked me to write down the name of the breed, they were pleased that it was a German name. There are a lot of Amish in our area, and I am predicting eventually many of them will have Spitzhaubens descended from Flugel and Heidi. And hopefully Moonshine will hatch some as well. She's on day 2 or 3.
On the way back, I spied some yellow irises in a fence row, no houses anywhere near. I asked my DH to go pick some, but it was really really wet and muddy between us and the flowers. They looked to be completely yellow, no other color.

We rode all the back roads over to Scott City and went to the Riverhouse restaurant and Mississippi is up pretty high. The restaurant is usually 500' from the river today the river surrounds it and the parking lot is under water. It was build with a view of the Thebes court house that Abe Lincoln practiced law in and watched the trains cross the Mississippi over the Thebes bridge that was built in 1902.

And I found two more baby tomatoes for a total of 8 Arkansas Travelers... and I think the strawberries liked the 24 8 12 I used last year as they are producing a hand full a day which I share with the chickens.
