calling any one from missouri

She was feral for sure but she loves me now... and thinks it's ok for an old fart to carry her around like a baby. She has never been in a house and has no idea what a litter box is.

I was just funnin’ ya about your spoiled “feral” cat, as those seem like contradictions... I wasn’t questioning her street credentials ;)

But if you keep at it she’s not going to be able to check the “Feral” box on her tax forms next year!

That's my plan. She still has the instinct and surprise reactions of being feral but when she is napping under the grill or on top of the smoker she won't even open an eye when I walk by as she knows it's me by the sound I guess.

I named her Woody before she was trusting enough to say "talk to the butt" so I had no idea she was a female cat. She is light and dark grey stripes sorta like the last Woody who was a male cat and liked to sit on my lap while I worked at the computer and sleep.

There was a feral cat here for years. We called him Blackie, he was black, long haired, and very scruffy, one bad eye and one bad leg. He would never ever let us get close to him. He survived all kinds of illnesses and injuries that we were helpless to assist him with, some looked very serious. I would put oral flea med in his food, and he would eat anything our cat refused and more. Our neighbor a mile away said Blackie would come to their farm too, he travelled far and wide. He got so he would lay on the patio while we sat out there listening to the Cardinals games on the radio. But move twd him and he was gone.
Last year, he disappeared and didn't come back. After about 4 months, we knew he was gone. About that time, in a Walmart parking lot, a tiny black kitten approached us. We brought him home. In contrast to Blackie, he was the most loving sweet trusting little guy, we named him Kiki. We got him neutered and vaccinated, but he got sick shortly after, and they said he had feline leukemia. He may have caught it at the clinic (which is at the shelter) or maybe he already had it. He didn't survive. We were very fond of him. We felt somehow there was a connection to Blackie there.
We still have a very spoiled female cat named Bitty that showed up here 12 yrs ago and is still with us and is in charge of the household.....

We started out with a pair of male kittens right after we got married, we got from someone the wife knew who was giving them away. I named mine Budweiser and the wife named hers Michelob. We called them Buddy and Mickey, well Buddy and Mickey decided to switch owners and Mickey became my lap cat. Mickey finally got cancer at 15 years old so bad we had to put him down. Buddy didn't last long after that. After that it's just been stray cats showing up. The current house cat someone dumped off near a place my wife's friends mother owned but she had some tom cats and this one didn't have any front claws and had been fixed so it was someone's house cat. His name is Oreo but that ain't what I call him lol. He usually sits half in my lap in the evening watching some TV. He gets crazy spells and starts running around the house as fast as he can sometimes.

Woody and Oreo have met a few times and Woody has checked out the upstairs (main floor) of the house.
