calling any one from missouri

I have five ducklings for sale that are 12 days old as of this post. They are $6 each. They are extremely energetic and are a variety of breed mixes, see photos for markings (silver appleyard, Pekin, golden welsh harlequin, Silver Swedish, Blue Swedish, Silver welsh harlequin, Aylesbury, Production Rouen) we don’t have two of any given breed so you will not have a full breed of any of them).
We can’t tell you for sure what they will be because we have an extremely varied flock.

I would like to send all the ducklings to the same home if possible, and I won’t sell just one duckling unless you have other ducklings around the same age (they need feathered friends as they are very social, and if the ducks are older they tend to pick on the little ones). Very cute! Good luck!

I have a broody hen sitting on eggs. This is Violetta, one of the Sprights. She’s just a year old and untested. She had gone broody twice in April, and I was tired of breaking her, so I gave her just 2 eggs.

She’s on Day 10. I decided to stay hands off and let her do her thing within the flock and see how it goes. Today, she was off the nest to eat, drink, poop and she was walking around all puffed up, constantly clucking that broody cluck sound. I went to check on her eggs and, oh no! Princess Leia was on Violetta’s eggs! She was growling at the others who approached as if she was broody herself. I wondered what would happen. Violetta is pretty high up in the pecking order which is why I allowed this. When Violetta returned, she puffed all up and stood right in front of Leia’s face, glaring at her. She then stepped into the nest at which point, Leia left. Leia went to the upper nest to lay her egg.

Good for Violetta!

My mama had trouble with other gals getting in the nest with her to lay their eggs. Plus I caught mama in the wrong nest a few times. That’s why I eventually put her in the kennel.

Chicks are now 2 weeks old & doing great.

We are in Marshall TX tonight and heading to Cypress TX in the morning for my grandsons graduation party. The ceremony is closed due to covid so my daughter is having a party instead for family and friends. I30 from Little Rock to Texarkana was a miserable ride with miles of road construction and millions of trucks and did I mention the rain... I still can't get over the speed limits in Texas on roads up to 75 MPH on two lane roads.

Safe travels! Hope you have a great time too!

Isn’t it almost time for the crawfish boil with your LA brother? Will you be heading straight there from TX?
