This is probably a long shot, but is anyone looking for a solo barn cat that is chicken-friendly?

He MUST be an only cat - he is territorial and aggressive towards other cats. He has tested positive for FeLV but is healthy as can be right now. (FeLV is a cat-only virus and is spread through fighting and mating. It does not survive long on surfaces. More info on FeLV can be found here and here.)

He’s not feral, but has had a hard life fending for himself in a rural area in NE KS, so he can be affectionate, but he’s not really a family pet. He’s tough-as-nails and very low maintenance. He is a good hunter (and has gifted me the biggest mouse I’ve ever seen) and will even chase off raccoons! He is fine around dogs - they very quickly learn to leave him alone.

He is chicken-friendly: I have been caring for him since April and he has never once gone after my chickens (he regularly keeps me company in my garden while my chickens are out).

He’s an outdoor cat, but tolerates confinement if needed, and uses a litter box when confined. Doesn’t usually like to be picked up, but he goes into a carrier very easily.

5 years old. Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped in April 2023.

If interested in adopting/hiring him, please message me directly!

I will be glad when mine are bigger and able to enjoy life more. My girl turned 2 last week and my boy turns 3 in a week lol
Bite cher tounge! They are still sweet and innocent at that age. They will turn into little monsters soon enough. Then terrible teenagers that will hate you until they are about 24 or 25..
Then they realise you weren't an idioit after all. But by that time they are ready to have their own crotch goblins and you get to start all over.
