I love Silver Laced!

I wish these stupid Canada geese would go home. There are 10 of them here. They come up in my yard and even into my chicken pens! They "taunt" me when I take my pets for a walk around the pond behind our house.
Ooh, I hope those geese aren't unfriendly...

I've heard they can be terrors!

My silver-laced little ones are very pretty

, and since the young man is just getting started, his prices were beyond excellent.

Discovered I didn't have any good pics of them, or I'd show them off... will have to remedy that problem tomorrow.

I am originally from San Diego California but I have lived in Central Missouri for the last 17 years. I bounced back and forth from the Lake of the Ozarks to Columbia to Moberly. I now have a nice little piece of earth with some chickens some goats and a couple of doggies. Right outside Columbia Its really crazy how much u can love all ur animals.

I am from very North Central Missouri and my son is in 4-H. Poultry showing for 4-H at our fair is fairly new, but growing. I am in search of someone in the area who might be willing to come speak to a county-wide 4-H meeting with the goal of helping the kids learn how to judge their own poultry as it compares to the APA Breed Standards. Even after reading them for a specific breed, I am still not sure. For example, when a breed says "the comb should have 5 well defined points". I'm not exactly sure where to start and stop counting. Any ideas on how to find someone????

Do you have an American Poultry Association SOP (Standard of Perfection) book? That is the first step in showing. You really need one. It has numerous illustrations you could use to teach from.
