quadcam79 - Very beautiful dog! Although I can see some similarity in the face... Sabina's is definitely narrower and more refined. Her eyes are closer together and her forehead isn't as wide. I'm looking at her right now and making comparisons...Sabina's facial structure is much lighter framed.
silkiechicken - as I have said, GSD in my area are not considered "dangerous". We are a smaller semi-rural community and many shepherds (collies, labs, and cattle dogs) are used as working dogs, not as guard dogs...so they are excused, unless something happens involving a shepherd....
Pit bulls are not the only breed being discriminated by in my town - dobermans are too.
hollyclyff - no Sabina is not causing anyone any trouble. We have 15 acres of land and part of it is invisible fenced in. Sabina does not leave the fenced in area when we turn her out. When we take her any where else she's always on a leash. We never leave her unattended.
*** Look. I'm sorry. I know I brought this on myself when I asked what breed you thought she was; however, when I am told by pit bull breeders and show-ers that they do not see any pit or other bully breed in here and state that fact, half of you still go on to say she is pit. We are very very certain that she is not. I do not want to start anything on here, I'm not angry because I did ask for your opinion but when I say she's not and when experts say she's not, I would really appreciate it if some respect was shown in that sense. We are pretty sure she is a mix with something from the hunting or sporting group and possible breeds from those classifications are what I was asking about.
We just adopted Sabina at the end of this past August after my first dog, Sasha, was drastically killed by a car. I found her in the ditch and picked her up out of it. That day will stay with me forever. I went on to lose 2 more pets by the time the New Year came along and 2008 doesn't seem to be any better. You keep on insisting she's a pit mix, which is exactly what the lady is doing and thus this trouble is arising. I'm not looking for sorrow or any kind of compassion; I'm looking for actual answers. something that could possibly settle my mind/put me at ease.
If the test results show she is a pit mix or has any other bully breed in her, I will be FORCED to GET RID of her! I will have to give up MY dog. I will lose another pet; a member of my family. It's not fair. She doesn't deserve this, but if 90% of you say she's a pit, you are either all correct or just are all bias toward that breed. Those of you who have pits, you don't understand how fortunate you are. My town was great until this witch showed up and now it's pure hell. No body should go have to go through this, especially not Sabina. Her second chance at a life is suppose to be perfect, not be torn away from a family who loves her.
Again, I apologize. I shouldn't have posted this. I appreciate all of you who cared enough to reply to my post it really means a lot to me.
Time will tell....
