Calls & Humidity

Just to be clear, if I keep it around 30% durning incubation I should be good? lol just want to know what to set it to

I would start at that and let the air cells guide you. I'm a chicken girl, haven't done ducks, I just listen to the wise girls around me.

Started the incubator and set the temperature to 37.8°C (100°F), the thermostat is Celsius only and my temp/humidity gauge is Fahrenheit. The incubator reads 37.8 Celsius and the temperature/humidity gauge (mainly for humidity) reads 99.3 Fahrenheit. The thermometer for the incubator is on the left side so I put the probe of my humidity/temperature gauge on the opposite side to hopefully get an accurate reading of the whole incubator. So I'm hoping they are both pretty accurate because I'm shooting for the actual temperature to be about 99.6 (going between the two). Humidity is currently at 43%. As you can see, the eggs are in the lower right waiting to go in (Thursday) I'm so excited. Does this all seem alright? I'll obviously be playing with it until I figure it out and stabilize it at this but that's why they say to get it going a few days in advance, right! Lol.

So far we have 7 developing well! The one was never fertilized. Some of them were really moving too! Today is day 8 and this is what we have so far! The mother is also sitting on a clutch of 6 as of yesterday! So excited!

Is it bad to have the humidity fluctuate between 30% and 40%. Once the humidity drops to about 30% I add some water which brings it to about 39%. Should I just keep it in a smaller range? Perhaps 32%-35%?

No, it's not bad. The numbers are just a guideline. As long as your eggs are loosing the proper amount of moisture and the air cells are growing that's what is important.

Okay so here are the air cells. I think their a little small. Before I take action I just want to make sure you all agree. The chart I'm comparing it to is that of a normal duck egg so maybe it's fine and the size is throwing me off? Anyway here are the pics and the chart. All of them are very active. It's day 10 by the way.
